Building an AI prototype is becoming easier, but deploying systems that work reliably across complex enterprise environments remains a different challenge. Companies must connect AI models to existing infrastructure, business data and operational processes while maintaining security, governance and measurable outcomes.

Gorilla Logic, an engineering company focused on building and modernizing enterprise technology, has appointed Steve Daly as chief technology officer as it expands its work in enterprise AI transformation.

The appointment follows the company’s acceptance into Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network as a Select Services Partner, which supports organizations adopting and operationalizing Claude. Together, the developments position Gorilla Logic to expand its work helping businesses move AI initiatives beyond experimentation.

Daly will focus on the architecture, data and engineering foundations needed to bring AI systems into production. The role reflects a broader challenge for enterprises: access to capable AI models does not necessarily provide the infrastructure or processes required to deploy them across business-critical environments.

“AI is changing what companies can build and how quickly they can build it,” said Drew Naukam, CEO of Gorilla Logic. However, he noted that “enterprise adoption requires much more than access to a model.”

The distinction is important as companies move from testing individual AI applications to integrating them into established operations. Systems must work with existing data and software, while remaining secure, governable and capable of delivering repeatable business results.

Engineering and governance remain central to enterprise AI

Daly brings more than 35 years of technology and consulting leadership to the role. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of solutions for global digital transformation at New Era Technology, where he led the company’s global AI practice and initiatives involving cloud transformation and enterprise innovation.

His experience spans startups, mid-market businesses, Fortune 500 companies and public-sector agencies. According to Gorilla Logic, his work has included large-scale modernization programs and advising executive teams on digital transformation.

Daly said the challenge extends beyond the technology itself. “AI creates tremendous opportunity, but technology alone doesn’t create transformation,” he said.

He added that “the real work is connecting AI to the business, and the people who have to operate it every day.”

That connection can determine whether an AI initiative becomes part of an organization’s operations or remains an isolated experiment. Enterprises must account for how employees use the systems, how the technology interacts with existing processes and how results are measured.

Gorilla Logic said it is expanding its work across AI-native product and platform engineering under Daly’s technical leadership. The company aims to apply engineering discipline to both areas as clients adopt AI in business-critical environments.

The announcement did not disclose specific customer deployments, financial targets or measurable outcomes associated with the expanded strategy. Its immediate significance is the addition of technical leadership as the company develops its enterprise AI services.

As organizations move toward production deployments, the challenge is shifting from demonstrating what AI models can do to ensuring they operate reliably within real business environments. That requires more than model access: it requires the engineering, data architecture and operational discipline needed to make AI work at scale.
