Council on Integrity Taps Coding Bootcamp DevMountain to Build Student Trust

Coding bootcamp DevMountain is selected to join a newly-established education watchdog that ensures students aren’t deceived about job placement after graduating.

Coding bootcamp DevMountain has joined the newly established Council on Integrity in Result’s Reporting (CIRR).

The CIRR‘s standards prevent deceptive graduation and job placement marketing practices and ensure a student can trust what a school advertises.

Bootcamps are growing at a rapid pace, however they aren’t yet accredited. This makes it difficult to keep them regulated and unfortunately, a few have been surrounded by negative press for falsified statements.

“The code school industry has grown explosively because students and employers need the skills bootcamps provide. But to stay strong, schools need to deliver the skills that yield long-term professional opportunity. Clear, simple, validated reporting is how we know the system is working,” reads CIRR’s website.

Being an industry-leading coding school for programmers, entrepreneurs, and designers, DevMountain complies with all the regulations set forth by the CIRR, and has joined with coding bootcamp-specific coalition Skills Fund to ensure integrity in these programs.

“Our goal at DevMountain is to be as impactful and accessible as we can for our students and community,” said Cahlan Sharp, co-founder and CEO of DevMountain. “It was an easy choice to commit to the CIRR standards as they help to put our students first.”

In compliance with CIRR standards, programs will now release graduation and placement data on a semi-annual basis. Bootcamps will align student needs with curriculums, and report all 2017 cohorts according to adopted standards criteria.

“Students are the clear winners here,” said Rick O’Donnell, Founder & CEO of Skills Fund. “Leading bootcamps are moving beyond transparency to embrace the simplicity, clarity, and integrity of reporting graduation and employment outcomes in a single table free from footnotes, complexity, and gimmicks.”

CIRR reporting will be made publicly available on the Skills Fund and Course Report website – as well as on individual school’s respective websites – for use and engagement by all interested parties.

Through full-time and part-time coding bootcamps, DevMountain focuses on modern technical skills for fast-paced high-tech industries by offering a variety of courses such as web development, user experience and iOS development.
