Jack Dorsey’s Square

Despite eager anticipation from Irish users Jack Dorsey’s smartphone credit card scanner, Square, has no plans to launch in Ireland…just yet. Speaking to The Sociable the guys at Square said to us,

It’s great to hear that there’s interest
and desire for Square in Ireland. Unfortunately, we don’t have a
timeline for availability in Ireland right now.

We’ll keep you updated.

Jimmy Wales’s Wikipedia

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales is asking for more money. In a personal message posted on Wikipedia Jimmy is asking users to donate $20, $35, $50 or more to keep the site running. Wales, says

Together, we can keep it free of charge and free of advertising. We can keep it open – you can use the information in Wikipedia any way you want. We can keep it growing – spreading knowledge everywhere, and inviting participation from everyone.

Each year at this time, we reach out to ask you and others all across the Wikimedia community to help sustain our joint enterprise with a modest donation of $20, $35, $50 or more.

If you value Wikipedia as a source of information – and a source of inspiration – I hope you’ll choose to act right now.
