Skype for Windows gets Facebook integration and group video calling

In a blog post yesterday Skype announced that their latest version of Skype for Windows includes a number of deep Facebook integration features.

Along with a new group video calling feature Skype have also integrated the Facebook News Feed and Phonebook, which will make it “easier to stay connected with the people and communities you care about”.

Here’s a list of all the Facebook features they’ve included:

  • see your Facebook News Feed in Skype
  • post status updates that can be synced with your Skype mood message
  • comment and like friends’ updates and wall posts
  • call and SMS your Facebook friends on their mobile phones and landlines
  • make a free Skype-to-Skype call if your Facebook friend is also a Skype contact

In addition to Facebook integration and group video calling Skype now has a home dashboard with a feed of mood message from friends, and various tutorials on using the service.
