The Future of Business: Technology Every Organization Should Know About

With autonomous vehicles roaming the streets, flying cars released to the public, and holographic technology in cell phones, it’s easy to assume the future many imagined to be decades away has arrived.

The truth is, it’s only just beginning. However, with these advances comes a myriad of twists for businesses struggling to keep up and compete in a shiny new world.

Here are four such advancements that every businessman and woman should know about.

Drones

Soon, you won’t have to wait an hour for that pizza you’ve been craving. Instead of opening your door to a driver, you may just come face-to-metal with a drone. At least, that’s what Amazon Prime Air has done with its new method of delivery.

Drones offer businesses an affordable avenue for services. And these new-age gadgets can do more than just transport items; they have uses in photography, organ deliveries, search and rescue, inspections, geographical surveys, and much more. “Because humans are not behind the wheel in time-sensitive scenarios,” adds Laurence B. Green, attorney and co-founder of the law firm Berger and Green, “companies may have the added benefit of fewer potential injuries.”

Don’t worry your pretty head about flying regulations; the US released its commercial-use guidelines in 2016.

Holographic Visualization

Remember when everyone oohed and aahed as Tony Stark showed off that cool holographic technology in Iron Man? Now, it’s being used in businesses.

Holographic visualization has the means to change education, architecture, policing, and many more industries. It can make demonstrations simpler and transform training, taking the focus away from paperwork and putting it on interactive images. It can help visualize future changes or aid in plan-making.

Unfortunately, because these devices are relatively new in America, prices are still high.

Wearables

Smartwatches and other wearables are in. Instead of booting up the old laptop, cell, or tablet to stay connected, personnel can now use a wearable to accomplish the same thing. Smartglasses offer a hands-free method to check and compare documents, search information, and connect. For emergency and medical professionals, smartwatches, rings, and other wearables are priceless. For business people who need instant access to data, these may offer a much more convenient method than previous ones.

Big Data Analytics

Gone are the days where workers would slavishly enter data instead of focusing on more productive tasks. With the advent of big data analytics, businesses can let programs do the work for them—and even analyze it. The new technology is so useful that 53 percent of companies adopted the products and software necessary to execute such analyses in 2017. It is a priceless way to discover trends, patterns, and insights that can be missed in today’s ocean of data. This can aid in marketing, cost reductions, consumer satisfaction, and planning.

Drones and holography? Wearables and analytics? That future world, the one we imagined as children, is here.
