As digital transformation connects more and more systems, creating a hyper-connected super-system in businesses, its best practices demand flexibility, bringing on further new challenges.

Nikolay Patrikov, CEO at ZigiWave, told The Sociable that every best practice might not be working in 100% of cases, but what also matters is picking the right best practices for your organization, as they keep evolving.

Pick the right partners, who can lead you to success. Making a poor choice inevitably leads to spending a lot of money without the desired results

“In the last two years, everything around digital transformation has become much more mature. It is not just a concept or positive thinking anymore, but is happening now. More and more companies adopt newly formed best practices and make this transformation work,” he says.

ZigiWave delivers integrated solutions to companies through their platform, ZigiOps, in many areas, such as finance, banking, telco, healthcare, transport, and even government structures.

Business Digital Transformation Challenges

When going through the process of transforming a business digitally, each company may face its unique set of challenges. However, some remain common to all as pointed out by a Jabil survey, like employee pushback, lack of expertise to lead digitization initiatives, organizational structure, lack of overall digitization strategy, and limited budget.

Trust and Collaboration

According to Patrikov, the biggest challenges in digital transformation are still trust and collaboration.

“People often have a hard time trusting you when you offer ‘improvements’. Also, many see Digital Transformation as a threat to their job, and because of this, they refuse to help in the process, which usually has a very negative impact – mostly on timelines,” he says.

Choosing the Right People

Patrikov also says that choosing the right people to lead the transformation process is important.

“They should be innovative, but still keeping their feet on the ground. Such people can understand the need for digital transformation, identify where improvement is a must or just a good idea. They can define the right toolset, and last but not least — build a strong team of employees, contractors, and vendors who can collaborate and get the job done.”

Finding the right partner is another challenge, he says. “Pick the right partners, who can lead you to success. Making a poor choice inevitably leads to spending a lot of money without the desired results,” he advises.

Global Demand for Digital Transformation

Though Bulgaria based, ZigiWave operates on the global market. Patrikov says that the company, which has more than 50 customers in Fortune 500s, sees the same demand in every region.

“Some prevalent scenarios are connecting ITSM with DevOps (BMC Remedy, ServiceNow with JIRA, Azure DevOps) or ITOM with ITSM (Micro Focus Operations Bridge with ServiceNow, BMC Remedy),” he explains.

ITSM is the core of every large organization and has been modernized significantly in the last few years, and this leads to many new integration opportunities.

Last year, a McKinsey Global Survey found that companies that implemented best practices in digital transformation enjoyed greater success than others. Though, only 26% of respondents claimed to be successful. However, a change is coming about in this field as best practices evolve.

In the case of ZigiWave, the company addresses a widespread problem that many companies going through digital transformation face, productivity optimization. Their integration platform, ZigiOps, enables them to get the job done.

“We handle complex cases where integrations are vital to achieving better customer service, simpler and cheaper operational flow, and, of course, happier and more productive employees.”

Choose Your Best Practices Wisely

Digital transformation best practices have been evolving over the past few years as more and more businesses come to learn the significance of implementing them. As Gartner’s 2018 paper, How to Measure Digital Transformation Progress recommends:

“Your best practices will change because of the market, competition, and customer behavior. This is not once and done. You need to change your best practices by looking at your selected Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).”

Whole industries are not only transforming digitally, but, with the help of companies like ZigiWave, are integrating all their systems as well to avail benefits like delivering better customer experience and remaining competitive. As such, it’s critical that they keep in mind the best practices, as applicable to their particular business.
